What is WECC?
WECC (Wildlife, Energy & Community Coalition) is an alliance of grassroots environmental and community organizations, scientists, and conservationists. We work to protect communities and wildlife threatened by irresponsible energy development.
Who can become a member?
We welcome anyone working to stop industrial renewable energy projects who is also willing to support others doing the same. The one condition is that members cannot be seeking to simply relocate a project proposed for their community into somebody else's community. We ask members to be aligned with our mission and to help other members in their efforts to protect wildlife and communities.
Does WECC oppose all renewable energy?
No. WECC focuses on irresponsible siting and development, not renewable energy as a category. We work to ensure that energy projects, including wind and solar, are sited and developed in ways that do not needlessly harm wildlife and the communities living near them.
How do I get involved?
